Habitat for Humanity-Valley of the Sun is working with a organization who would like to sponsor a home for a visually impaired family - this could either be the homeowner or a family member who resides in the home.  They are reaching out to organizations who provide services and/or information to the visually impaired to assist us in getting the word out. In order to build a home with Habitat, the future homeowner should possess the following:

-Two years of steady income history
-One year of good rental history in Phoenix
-Good (acceptable) credit history, or no credit history
-Ability to work 400 hours as "down payment"
-Ability to pay closing costs
-Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident

Scholarship Opportunity:

 

The Orphan Foundation of America (OFA), along with Casey Family Programs and other generous sponsors, has announced 100 new scholarships to be awarded annually to young people out of foster care. Ranging from $2,500 - $6,000 these scholarships are renewable with continued eligibility up to six years or until degree attainment.
